Dance

spin me around
cheek in jowl
make the universe
disappear- let the stars
come out, coaxing
every vein to stand out
in this body
that juggles fear.

hear the wind
gushgushing through
the seams of my dress,
unstitching every dream
cloaked within,
undressing me
to the last cell

off me
the need
to know.

but you know how
questions spill out,
spoiling the core
of the fruit
i call home -
seeded with secrets
i cannot dare
to call my own,
seething with
desire.

have you dervished
to melancholy
hooking past
to the future?
has the Witness
tugged at the instrument
of Truth, with a mild despair?
has your faith
run out of form
to smoothen the creases
of over-spilled liquor?

answers come slushing
through caves
opening up my soul-
wringing my mouth dry
from keeping score.
i keep dancing
for the dance to continue,
drunken on my demons.

and turgid becomes each voice
that has sashayed
out to show :
Truth is but
a butterfly cooing
in the dark
with phosporescent glow.
