Love. Speculation.
why do I love you
the way i can see you
in my mind's eye
stripped off second skin, bare shell
flushed by the crumble of a waterfall
cold and pure, cleansing all that lies
within.
why do i love you
the way i would love myself
serenely flipping through a book
amid the bustle of a busy airport
countless heads hopping up and down
one afternoon.
why do i love you
the way i would find a rainbow
flashing across the sky
after days of widespread grey
get drenched by the thrashing rains
once again.
why do i love you
the way i would seek god
my heart crying, day after night
even as the old unsettling dreams
come crashing down
on me.
why do i love you
still remains the question
behind colorful bits of speculation.
Just like your other poem where you state "Love like never before". Just love as much as you can. No questions asked, no answers needed :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome thought process here... stripped off second skin. Wow, I love that line.
