Night

The flickering moonlight
Laced by a restrained gasp
Like a cloak the still of night
Creeps up on my back
There are murmurs in my ear
Did I hear them right?
A million ripples glaze the skin
Burning every yearning pore
Is it a call to sin?
Persistent breath forming rhythms
Against the nape of my neck
Tugs the strings down below
The butterflies are released
Against the growing horizon light
Spelling an end to romance
Between me and seductress night
