Looking Back
On a cold December evening
As the sun set in the orange west
And the lake glimmered with shredded light
Your eyes met mine on the southern front
Even before I saw you
Your shadow caught me
Watching in utter surprise
Who had I found
In the multitudinous crowd
Of heavy hearts and bizarre dreams
Illusion! My heart cried
Something within slowly died
A fresh beginning it was
Far from the storm raging within me
In you, finding my long-lost twin
Where were you all this while?
Time became a satin ribbon
Binding you and me
In a bond of timelessness
How could this be happening?
How could it happen?
The question lingers on
Yet you are gone
Through the glass darkly
I watch again and again
Illusion ! My heart cries
I pine to find you
Even as the sun rises in the orange east.
Intense
ReplyDeleteSun sets in the orange west and sun rises in the orange east. It revolves around a part of me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think of it all as an illusion.
